While last minute knitting, baking and painting prevented me from saying so any sooner, I do hope everyone had a fun and happy holiday, and that the hangover fades in plenty of time to ring in 2010.

Twenty-two Veghs vs. Cheese Santa. I think Santa lost.
While I’m typically slack at posting this time of year, I do plan to pitch in a couple more posts before this year draws to a close, including my second annual Top Five Hamilton Hits of 2009 (yes, two will make it an annual event, thank you very much). In the meantime, Canadian Art Online’s Top Ten Exhibitions from across the country is a far more worthwhile read - even if Richard Rhodes did cheat a little by making four individually worthy sculpture shows share the #6 spotlight. It’s still a good snapshot of Canada’s strongest showings from this past year.
Editorial footnote: You know what’s even better than great Canadian art? Shitty international art. Check out the Top Ten Most Scathing Art Review Zingers of 2009, courtesy of NEWSgrist (with a special nod to anaba for pointing the way).
