Hamilton Artist’s Inc: While the gallery is technically closed for the month of August (as is The Print Studio, so you’ll have to go to Wild Orchid for your sangria), their doors will be open during Art Crawl for WABAM!, a presentation of the Hamilton Youth Arts Network in collaboration with the Inc. The group will also be keeping gallery hours on Saturday August 15 from 2-4:00pm, as well as Tuesday the 18th and Friday the 21st from 12-5:00pm.
On a similarly youth-driven note, Sky Dragon will be opening a group show of works from the Well LGBTQ Wellness Centre’s RADAR Youth Group.
Loose Canon: Bryce Huffman and Chris Brett return to Loose Canon for another quintessential LC-style display of illustration, comic culture and kick-ass robots with UnNatural.

(Non-robot but rather nice Bryce Huffman work, ganked from www.brycehuffman.com)
And speaking of robots, Blue Angel Gallery will be continuing last month’s showing of Ihor Demydchuk’s fabulous found metal sculptures. There will also be live jazz.
Mixed Media: The shop’s gallery space will be showing drawings and paintings by Sheridan student and recent Inc. intern Alex Gorodskoy. I understand that Alex was disappointed that I wasn’t around last August to rip his work a new one on this blog, but I’ll certainly do my best this time around.
You Me Gallery: The Hood, The Bad and The Ugly tackles questions of social change in the political climate of present-day Hamilton through lens-based imagery kicked off by Gary Santucci’s selections from The Pearl Company’s surveillance cameras. Further photographic works by Jim Chambers, Will Heikoop, Hollie Pocsai, Cees van Gemerden fill out the social and ethical issues of this exhibition.
An Artist Talk on the show follows on Thursday Aug 20 at 7:30pm.
