…and I’m once again heading northward to a rural patch of Ontario devoid of internet access, which is really something of a blessing.
Before I hit the road, here’s a road trip far more expansive and engaging than the one I’m about to take up the 400: David Lynch’s Interview Project. The online documentary tracks the 70-day road trip of Lynch’s son Austin as he travels across the US with a camera crew, interviewing random strangers found along the way. Perhaps on account of the generation gap, there’s a surprisingly sedate normality at work in the project, yet the accumulation of all these brief histories adds up to something surreal and far more characteristically Lynch.
The link provided here goes to the first video in the series featuring Jess from Needles, CA, with a total of 18 interviews available for viewing as of this posting. With new videos being added every three days, this one might be worth bookmarking for your ongoing viewing pleasure, or otherwise.
Posting will resume Monday, preferably with me in a somewhat more relaxed state of mind. Have a great weekend, folks.
