Hamilton Artists Inc: Niki Boghossian, Matthew Dayler and Andrew McPhail, suckerpunch

Although this exhibition is a carry-over from last month’s Art Crawl, this is one of those shows that makes for enjoyable repeat viewing. I won’t be reviewing this for a third time, so to refresh your memories, my thoughts on the work are here and here.
The Print Studio: Hamilton Camera Club, Our History and Heritage: Then and Now and Paradox of the Vocation
With another pre-Crawl reception set for 6:30-7:30, The Print Studio would make a good early gallery visit for all your sangria needs. Paradox of the Vocation will showcase the results of a recent community arts collaboration with the Juravinski Cancer Centre, while the main exhibition space is given over this month to the Hamilton Camera Club for a photographic survey of Hamilton’s past and present.
To carry on the sentimental mood, it might also be worth checking out Corktown: Stories of a Neighbourhood at HIStory + HERitage.
You Me Gallery: Hulleah Tsinhnahjinnie and Shelley Niro, Hulleah + Shelley = Trouble
This month’s exhibit at You Me pairs Shelley Niro with California-based Aboriginal artist Hulleah Tsinhahjinnie, with an artist’s talk to follow on July 23 at 7:30pm.
Sky Dragon Centre: James Blair
Local artist/activist James Blair will be showing paintings inspired the cultural underground, with a hefty roster of musical acts to match that will no doubt run into the late hours of the evening. Apparently, James is also featured in a series of ‘naughty’ photographs by Darren Kregar, with further photography offered by Sean Gratton.
