The Print Studio: Yoshiko Shimada, Bones in Tansu: Family Secrets

The second exhibition in The Print Studio’s On Surface series features artist-in-residence Yoshiko Shimada visiting from Japan with her on-going project archiving and displaying anonymously gathered secrets in locally sourced dresser drawers, with space provided for visitors to contribute their own secrets to future installations.
Hamilton Artist’s Inc: Rachel Echenberg and Vida Simon, Carbon Interiorities

Two Montreal-based artists will be hard at work in the Inc. conducting mutually exclusive yet conceptually related performances counter-representation. Over the course of several hours Rachel Echenberg will attempt to slowly erase herself as a visual evocation of public anonymity, while Vida Simon uses drawing as an improvisational gesture unfolding throughout the gallery space.
To further meet your live art needs, the Inc. is also resuming the New Harbours Music Series at Christ’s Church Cathedral. This month’s performer is Hamilton-based electro-ambient artist Electroluminescent, starting from 9pm.
You Me Gallery: Ralph Caterini, Lorne Toews and Fabio Gasbarri
This group show will bring together paintings by three artists, while You Me will also present Diane Cizek’s work at Christ’s Church Cathedral.

For this month, Loose Canon is hosting a group show displaying the works of students from Westdale and Highland Secondary Schools.
