Hamilton Artists Inc.: Elizabeth Chitty

Chitty’s exhibition of ecologically conscious photographs and installation work has been on view since March 20 when I posted an announcement of her Artist Talk for the exhibition, but will be having its opening reception during the Art Crawl.

The Print Studio: Shelley Niro, Warriors and Other Works

Niro’s exhibition will be carrying forward from last month until April 18, so this is a good opportunity for a second look for any who may have missed it the first time around. For a whiff of something new, however, this month’s Art Crawl will feature two screenings of Niro’s first video work Tree (2006), taking place at 8:30 and 9:30.

Loose Canon: God Damn Gangsters

From the gallery that brought you such previous group shows as God Damn Robots, God Damn Ninjas and God Damn Cowboys, comes what will no doubt be another eclectic team party featuring yet another intrinsically fun pop cultural kick. The most recent Cowboys had a couple real gems, so fingers crossed on this one.

I’m afraid that’s where my reliable information stops, especially since the James North Art Crawl website is still promising to be back really soon. The rest of these are coming from View Magazine’s Art listings:

Blue Angel Gallery: Irena Vormitag, with live music by Gunter Ott Blues Band.

Sky Dragon: Haiti’s Road to Hope, an exhibition of photographs by James Harvey. These at least I have seen via jurying Harvey’s Exhibition Assistance Grant to the Inc. so I can attest to both the compelling quality of his photo-documentation of this Haitian marathon and the artist’s intent to serve desserts at the opening.
